What you say may very well be the case. "Plundering" other people's riches is exactly how the British built their empire. It did not come about by being nice to people.

There is a problem about oil which is not being generally addressed or understood by the wider public.

Okay, many of us want to cut back on emissions and maybe even stop them altogether. Problem is how do we move people about in our highly mobile nations here in the West?

If as some have suggested, we shift to bio-fuels, then this in itself will cause an even worse problem than already exists. It will simply lead to mass starvation.

Already in Texas farmers are growing hundreds of thousands of acres of 'corn' ear marked for the ethanol business.

What happens when every field is devoted to growing corn for turning into ethanol? Answer, people starve in their millions.

Oil is really the only option and even the anti-car brigade know that the car is just not going to go away.

Look what happened in London UK. Get rid of the 4x4's they said. Oh Yeah! Well, actually there's more money in simply taxing them more. And so it goes. The 4x4 is not going any where, it's here to stay and it gets taxed more and more.

ok, at the start. I won't attempt and "practice you incorrect" this time My opinion is that Jayawardena had each and every desirable to sign the three year contracts with the IPL. i'm no longer prepared on the IPL, yet technically Jayawardena did no longer something incorrect. whilst he signed the three year contract, Sri Lanka did no longer have a excursion that clashed with the IPL, so Mahela (and the lads) had each and every desirable to bypass and play. The IPL contract grow to be created earlier any England vs Sri Lanka excursion, so it quite is no longer honest for the gamers to be forced right into a excursion interior the final minute. If the SL board tension the Lankans to play the britain excursion, than the BCCI have each and every desirable to threaten to take SL's money away, by fact the gamers would be disobeying a written contract. gamers could choose tests over money, yet subsequently i believe the gamers.

This seems quite likely. The reason UK, USA and Norway would plunder the oil reserves of the island is because they have their own oil supply. Sri Lanka could undercut the market and cause prices to fall: that wouldn't do.

Why do UK and USA want to control the Middle East? The same reason.

He may well be right because oil companies will do that if they can get away with it. Business is business and everybody wants the best deal.

However, assuming that Sri Lanka has oil resources. How are you guys going to get it out? Sri Lanka neither has the infrastructure nor the experience when it comes to oil exploration and production. That means your government is going to have to work with a foreign company in some form of partnership. Are they going to deal with a reputable major operator like Statoil or Marathon, go with a major with a less than good record, or some mickey-mouse operation?

If its there, the oil will be exploited by somebody. It is up to the government of Sri Lanka to make the best deal it can, and up to the people of Sri Lanka to hold the government to account for the decision it makes.

I do not know the details behind this question, but I honestly think he might well have a point as the USA and its puppet (Blair or Brown) love to stick their noses into affairs that are of no concern at all to them!!
