If you have other skills that will pay the bills, and if you are tired of being a mechanic, change jobs.

However, I don't think I'd sell my tools. You might need them to repair your own car, or to tinker on cars for personal enjoyment.

Good Luck changing careers.

Hard to say since we don't know if you are making a good wage or not, or if you love to work on cars or hate it.

But one thing is for sure. You need to first find out how/what you are going to do to pay the bills work to get to that and then get a job, and after that then it the time selling the tools you need to do your job. In other words, get another job before you give up your current job, unless there is some other way you can pay your bills until you get the next job.

As for what to do to pay your bills, well you are going to have to decide what you want and/or what you are good at and can give you the income you need.

I think this is something that you and your family should discuss.

I mean, how are anonymous strangers supposed to know how qualified you are to quit working on cars and move on to something else?
