It depends on the time of day and year you are traveling. Curently there is road construction on the road between Vancouver and Whistler, and you can have delays up tp 20 minutes. From downtown the quickest I have made it to Whistler is one and a half hours. The longest typical drive is about 2 and half hours, counting for traffic and snow. I have had it take over four hours, but the road was closed for awhile pending an accident investigation.

Plan for 2 hours plus in the summer as most of the journey will be on narrower, winding, mountainous roads with trailer traffic. More in the winter according to weather conditions.

It's about 80 miles. Might take you about 1 hr and 45 mins.
