Only scales with all reptiles, which would include birds which have scaled legs.(not all reptiles lay eggs)
Large dinosaurs would have likely produced thermal inertia (the size would have cause them to produce their own body heat).
There are also shared skeletal characteristics such as diapsid skulls.

Well, dinosaurs can seen as inbetween reptiles and birds; dinosaurs are classified as Reptilia, but they are highly speciallized. On the reptile side, they are more closely related to crocodilians than lizards, snakes, or turtles. Yes, dinosaurs had scales and laid eggs, Many of the later theropods (think Velociraptor and even T. rex) had some sort of feathery covering at one point during their lives (not the feathers we're used to on birds, more like 'fluff'). When comparing dino and reptilian eggs, they are very different: if you've ever seen or handled a lizard's egg you'll see that it has a leathery, somewhat flexible, covering--dinosaur eggs are like bird eggs, hard from the calcium carbonate in the shell. (All reptiles lay eggs, but some have the eggs hatch inside the mother--its called "ovi-viviporous")
Here are the shared characteristics between reptiles and dinosaurs:
1) both have calcaneum and astragalus bones in their ankles (mammals have them too, since mammals decend from reptilian ancestry)
2) a mobile skull--basically they have a neck and can move the skull independent of the body (fish and amphibians can't do this)
3) an antiorbital fenestra--in English, this means they have a hole in the skull right in front of the eye socket (this feature is shared with crocodilians ONLY)
I hope this answers your question and I haven't completely confused you!

dinosaurs may have been warm-blooded and thus very active; not dependent on th sun warming them up like reptiles do. They may have been social and vocal unlike most reptiles. They were certainly very large, compared to most reptiles

Remebr people only ASSUME that dinosuars were cold blooded.
