It's verrry unlikely you or your mom will go to jail. Just try to stay as calm as you can (I know that it's REALLY hard because you are soo scared!). Just try to fall asleep by just closing your eyes and relaxing. You need all the sleep you can get. Think of happy things like, things you've done with your friends, family ,etc. Good luck tomorrow!! =D

Where I am from, kids don't go to court for missing too much school. The parents are required to submit a petition to the school and explain the absences and the school board will then decide wether or not to allow the absences and continue the child's education. This is in Idaho. If you are from the US, I am not aware of any cases where parents went to jail because their children missed school or where kids went to juvy for missing too much school. This sounds more like a police state than a free country.
When you get to court, your mother should be able to explain why you were not there and the matter should be resolved.

I've been through this before and have felt the same as you're describing (I didn't go for the same reason, though). But the way I got through it was by realizing that whatever will happen, will happen...there's nothing you can do at this point. Keep a positive attitude and know that the "crime" (so to speak) is already done and you just have to move forward. Remind yourself it's not the end of the world, and eventually it will be a thing of the past.

It is very unlikely you'll go to jail, take it easy. Bring your doctor's letter if you have any, and all your medicine containers to show how sick you were, and to explain why you missed school. Give the judge your word that you won't miss any more and your mum should also say that she'll be more watchful over you and make sure you don't skip school. You'll probably just get a scolding if this is your first offence. Don't worry too much. And good luck.

properly, you have been attempting to electrify older youngsters. You wanted to look like a grown up. So be a grown up. Take accountability on your movements. settle for the end results of an extremely stupid determination. there's no reset button. All you're able to do is circulate forward. you could the two do it maturely or immaturely. Immaturity won't circulate over properly with the decide. And be happy it did not harm all people (a minimum of i'm presuming out of your description), in the different case you would be finding at many extra felonies. in the event that they order counseling, be happy you're getting that extremely of a worse punishment. and view that merely possibly you want it. Counseling isn't the worst difficulty interior the international. and end striking out with youngsters who think of explosives make a guy or woman cool. heavily, that's not a friendship that is going to end properly.

Breathe. You and your mother are not criminals. Make sure your mom has the doctor records or the doctor with you.
Think about the juvie thing. Why would they lock you away in juvie for missing school? Your schooling would be more affected by that.
Be honest, be polite. You'll be okay.
Good luck.

As long as you have documentation from a physician as to your mystery illness, then there should be no problem, but if the mystery illness is just something that was diagnosed by your mother and not a trained physician, then there will be consequences to pay. So as long as you are on the up and up, then don't worry but then if there is something more here than told, be prepared to be ripped a new one. God Bless.

I have been to court 2 times once for fighting and another for missing school alot. They DO NOT put you in jail for skipping they usually send you to SOC or give you a small fine or sometimes just a warning.

As long as you were ill nothing would happen - I would assume you are going to family court and they generally dont send people to jail for anything! They are going to tell you do go and maybe put you on probation at most. Your mother would not go to jail for this she hasnt committed a crime - she could be charged w child neglect and have to do some services w dss at most. If she can prove you were sick than nothing will happen most likely!

"20 unexcused because my mom didnt know she was supposed to call the school for an absence" Now that's a major load of bullshit. I know because schools CALL the parents if the parents don't call the school. I'm figuring that most of the story is bullshit.
