I had a 95% in high school and everyone said not to feel bad if I don't get 90's anymore.
I was slack this term and bombed a couple classes (passed them, though). My total average for the whole year is 74%. Is that good?

does it really make any difference as long as I graduate?

Acutally, at University of Saskatchewan (where I go) I can get a masters if I am above a 70%.

I think it's a 2.7 GPA

I think 74% is pretty good if you know where you went wrong (as you said you bombed out) and can improve on it.

Ultimately though once you get into the real world as long as you pass your studies it doesn't really matter what you got

Depends on what is okay for you. Where I go to school a 74% is 4% away from a D average! To me that isn't good. But if you are actually working as hard as you can or as hard as you want to work and you are okay with it then it really dosen't matter. However you shouldn't blow off college. Wasting that kind of money isn't smart. If you aren't trying that hard because you don't know what to do or because you don't like your major take some time off from school and try and decide what you want out of your life. Its something no one can decide for you. If you are okay with your average than who cares. For me, its not good enough. I didn't have that great of an average in H.S. But I have a 3.5 in College. So it just depends on you! Good Luck!

It all depends if you are personally happy with the mark- if you are then its a great mark, if your not then it may not be a good mark and you need to consider why you are not.

At the end of the day you more then passed which is a good sign!

Try not to compare your uni average to that of school. It is completely different with different standards and 'competition' if you want to call it that. It sucks but uni is meant to be harder and so thats why your marks may not match accordingly if you are putting in the same effort.

Barely for first year but you'll need to pick it up if you want honours. A 74% isn't good enough to get into the master's program.
Well, times have changed then. I went to Trent in Ontario and a 79 wasn't good enough to get my honours B.A., and certainly not master's. It all depends what you want, but "good enough" usually isn't, no matter what you do. Good luck with your studies anyway.

Not if you want a master's degree. Other than that, if you're happy, I'm happy!
