try avg anti spyware free. it is actually an anti malware. if you don't believe me, read avg free user manual. avg anti virus detects exutable files and dll libraries which are PUPs (potentially unwanted program). these programs can be spyware, adware, etc. avg free also scans your cookie list for bad cookies and the registry.
Good luck!!!!!!!!

Here is an excellent free antivirus program from AOL, powered by Kaspersky Labs., Russia rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You get auto updates every hour on the hour and an excellent background scanner that really works in real time. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

attempt Kaspersky anti virus.. Or set up Avast loose Anti Virus. throughout the time of the installation, it is going to ask for "boot test after installation". click "confident". it is going to restart your workstation and test it. do not press esc key until the test completes.. it is going to take a little time in accordance on your processor frequency and complicated disk skill..
