All you guys answered this question knows nothing about India nor Indian people, culture, languages, religion etc. You guys should better read your geography books correctly regarding India. India is a multi-lingual, multi-religious, multi-cultural country. We have more the 22 official languages & English is one of the official language of India otherwise 1,652 languages and dialects in total. We follow 9 major religions of the world including Christianity; Jewism which you guys feel is your monopoly. We have different states where different cultures regarding family life, food, dance, music, dress is being followed. Regarding marriage it is being celebrated both by religious & civil manner & we have different matrimonial laws for different religious marriages as well for civil form of marriage. Inter-religious, inter-caste, inter-cultural, inter-national, inter-racial all such forms of marriages are legally allowed in India. Now coming to the main question regarding marriage between females from Philippines & male from India is concerned there is no legal barrier for such marriage, as far shortage of Indian women in India is concerned let me tell you Indian total population is 1.1 billion out of which almost half are females, so if you guys out there having shortage of women in your country we have enough to provide you. So next time any of you making any comments about India should mind your information.

I think there is a cultural and religious factor some in this .They are in Asia but they are like cheese and chalk.I think with the American and foreign influence the people in the Philippines are more westernized then India . India is bound by more traditional values .

Cultural differences is a good point.

And possibly because the Phillipines have about 85 million people total, but India has about 1.1 billion. It just wouldn't be a practical, or a very effective, solution.

This sounds like a practical idea. Yet cross-cultural relationships can be complex. Both individuals need to be very understanding and patient.
