A malt has malt mix which lends a slightly different taste.

They add a powdered "malt" to a shake to make it a malt; without the malt, it's just a shake. The malt gives it a different flavor. Not very many places around here actually sell malts now.

some kind of malt (carnation tasting) stuff is in the Malt. A Shake is straight Ice Cream and Milk. I wondered that for years and just ordered whaever was available. They're both really good, Malts just have a different reaction for me once it's digested - TMI, I know.

All My life I have dreamed of being asked just this very question.....The Malted Shake has Malt extract in it. The Shake does not. Now My life is complete.

malts are much thicker and they have different textures, they usually have whoppers in 'em shakes are like um shakier lol
