The fact that you have asked this question shows that you would like to know more about contraception and are just starting to look into this issue. The only things which prevent conception (the fertilization of an egg by a partner's sperm) are things which are LABELED as contraceptives.
Think of it this way: contraception is a billion-dollar business. If Aspirin prevented pregnancy and was sold on the pharmacy shelf without a prescription, don't you think you would see ads on TV about it? Having a drug re-certified for an additional purpose means a huge profit for drug companies. Basically, unless it screams "CONTRACEPTIVE" in big letters on the bottle intself it will not prevent pregnancy. For more information check out http://www.optionsforsexualhealth.org/facts/index.htm.
And as a last word: there is NOTHING you can do or take after unprotected sexual intercourse that will prevent pregnancy, if conception has occurred, EXCEPT the morning-after pill. No aspirins, no douches, no weird herbs, nada. Just the morning-after pill. You may have to cross state lines to get it in this barbaric age, but get it you can.

That is an old wives tale Aspirin thins out the blood but is not effective pregnancy prevention That was only said because people associate bleeding with not being pregnant. There is nothing OTC that you can take after sex to prevent pregnancy

Oh how do I answer this question without running the risk of being 'violated'? Please tell Me that You are not sexually active. I take it that "sex education' is not Your best subject at school?
The golden rule is ......have the headache when asked for sex, be on the pill to avoid becoming pregnant, don't ask silly questions on the Internet, and THINK about Your question before You leave Yourself wide open to the merciless hum our of others.
Or......
The answer is no. Aspirin is not a contraceptive. Nor is it a prophylactic, a spermicide nor an inter uterine device of any shape, form fashion or kind.
So ends the lesson.

Aspirin? Are you serious? If preventing pregnancy was that easy, there would be no unexpected children being born because it would be so easy to prevent. I suggest you sit down and have a long talk with your doctor about your sexual practices. A doctor will quickly quash all the crap you may have been told in the past.

It doesn't have anything to do with preventing pregnancy. Besides aspirin is hard on the stomach and it will make you blood thin. You will have a hard time getting the blood to stop.

Doesn't work at all. The best way to prevent pregnancy is to take precautions. If your a man that is a condom. If a woman you have a number of choices. Usually a pill. With Aids on the increase don't take chances with your body or your mind. Don't ;\listen to stories that just not true.

NO.
You can take aspirin after sex in case it gives you headache!
In case you've already had sex and are unwilling to get pregnant as a consequence; go ahead and take some contraceptives (there are variants which can be taken as late as 72 hours after having sex.) A good chemist would be able to give you one (they are probably called emergency contraceptives.)

Well, as my grandmother says.... aspirin is an effective birth control if you put it between your knees... and don't drop it.
Otherwise.... 'taking' it .. .NO, aspirin is not a contriceptive.
But, it might help the headach afterwards when you get that "OMG what have I done?!" feeling.

This is a new one! I have never heard of this and I highly doubt that it would work. You need to use birth control for sex and the aspirin for headaches.
