I believe so. Economically it makes perfect sense. It would be a win-win situation for the donor (or donors family) and the recipient. Currently, there is a black market for organs and horrible things like the Alistair Cooke debacle occur. He's the famous guy from Masterpiece theater, and thieves cut out his leg bone from his corpse to sell on the black market. It happened to a lot of other non-famous corpses as well. Not only is this crude, but it's unsafe because the "donors" are not being screened for medical conditions that would normally prevent them from donating.

I have, on several occasions expressed that I should be able to have the right to 'negotiate' and sell my body--parted out or whole to whomever I wish--whenever I wish and for whatever price the market will bear.

Why not?

Ain't it MY body?

People sell their hair and nails--why shouldn't I be able to sell my spleen to the highest bidder?

Once I hear an outrageous price for a body 'parted out' on the current market--somewhere in the 1-200 thousands of dollars.

You people are ridiculous.

If there was a market for body parts, people would lose their value as a human being.

Instead, you would be a broken car selling its parts.

Not to mention, you would probably die faster than the average human, considering that when you do hall all of your organs the average life span is only about 80 - 90 years.

Think about it. Would you sell your children when you ran out?

But sure, go ahead and sell your bodies.

The only people that I know of that actually do sell their bodies are whores, and sadly, they would probably be better off than someone who actually sold their body PARTS.

End of discussion.

I think the only time body parts should be exchanged in organ donation. May God BLess U.
