Focus on improved health. 90% of the cholesterol in your body is made by your liver! Better liver health should lead to better cholesterol levels. Limit or eliminate processed foods and totally eliminate artifical sweeteners. Increase your dietary fiber by eating more fruits and vegetables and oatmeal has also been proven to help your body trasport extra cholesterol "out." It's not something that will happen over night, so make wellness your new principal and BE a healthy person. All the results will soon follow.

My husband's cholesterol level was a bit high and here are some things I have been making him take every morning, his cholesterol level has lowered since.

These all come in pills:
policosanol
CoQ10
B-12
Fish oil

We also use Benecol or Total Control instead of butter, and soymilk instead of regular milk. He also eats a little bit of dark chocolate every day which is supposed to help. But you have to get the really good quality kind...like 65-70% cocoa at least...none of that milk chocolate--does more harm than good because of the added sugar and fat.

you might try X20, it has helped a lot of people with a lot of things. Go to:

www.xoomaworldwide.com/krystynasherrer

and you hit the product link, and in there you can read information on it and go to testimonies and at the bottom of the page it has a link to search for certain words in the testimonies and you can search high cholesterol and see how it has helped others with similar problems, and it helps a lot fo other things too.

Hi Hermie, if you want to fight high cholesterol and drive your levels down using your diet as a primary tool.
There are two types of cholesterol: high-density lipoprotein (HDL) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL). HDL helps to remove excess fats from your blood while high LDL is known to lead to a higher incidence of strokes and heart attacks. You need to avoid foods and in order to reduce overall cholesterol levels. You need to avoid :
Eggs – Eggs have very high levels of LDL.
Fats and Oils
Sugar Products
Meat Products – All meat products have very high levels of HDL and should be avoided.
Crabs, shrimp (prawns), lobster and other such foods are very high in LDL.
Dairy Products – All dairy products have high levels of LDL.
Fast Foods

You need to eat - Low-Fat or Non-Fat Dairy Products
Non-Shell Fish
Soy Products – Soy products high in protein are good for reducing cholesterol.
Nuts such as walnut, almond, pecan and peanut all help to reduce cholesterol if they are eaten in their natural form.

Ginger thins the blood and lowers cholestrol. You can find it in the grocery sore and you only have to take a dose the size of a grape to get the affects. Don't take it if your already on blood thinners though.

3-4 cups of green tea a day can also help.

And of course as was stated before me, oatmeal.

Have some oatmeal every morning. It's best to use the old fashioned or "minute to cook" type since those in the little pouches (instant) tend to have too much sodium.
