Because there's many people who are ignorant or plain stupid and don't understand the concept of being American (at least in the U.S.A.).
My parents were from Mexico and came here, legally. I was born many years later and raised to be an American. Although I spoke Spanish first, I do not speak with an accent nor should I - I was raised in the states.
Some people seem to think that I owe Mexico (a place I've only visited once as a kid) some sort of loyalty and think that I'm some sort of trader for being Americanized. Plainly put, these are not people that I have or want anything to do with.

Well, my first vote used to be for Ronald Reagan - I Loved Him! Second Too! I used to be Raised to be a Liberal Democrat - But, This is America in which I made MY Choice to be a Republican! Not Now! I am a Constitutionalists Conservative - Christian Too! Also White Appearing, my husband is Bi-Racial and he Hates Obama More than I do - From the Beginning! Mark NEVER preferred Obama and used to be ALWAYS leary of him! We received Married in Austin in 1997 now we Live in Arkansas! Obama is Wrong for America! Rick Perry is Right! We Need Common Sense - Honesty - Accountability - True Leadership - Balanced Budget - Enforcement of Our Constitutional Laws - Term Limits for All and, NO Life-Time Benefits for Any! Why are white people that hang around blacks, talk slang, know how to rapp & dance hip hop called "wiggers" by other white kids... why do other whites call them wannabe's (as in black)??
Alot of times those type of minorities don't hang out with anyone else but whites. They want to be accepted (they feel it's a standard to fit in-don't know any better). Alot of times they feel that it's a way to be accepted (only hang out with white kids). They put up with the (masked) racist remarks (even if it's just joking) and even look down on their own people at times. For all intents & purposes they don't mind to be "white washed" and try to act it (they think caucasians will treat them any more differently than if they weren't)! It reflects off them to others as "sellouts" (not proud of their skin/race). They are sometimes embarrased to be linked to the country of their race. Thier own people recognize that and label them as "white washed"!
Alot of them are just like I described. However, alot of them were born & raised here, speak english as their first language and have alot of white friends, but they're not "white washed"... they know their history, are proud of it and wouldn't deny it.

Hmmmm. I think it's the same reason as when a minority wears baggy clothes and hangs out with gang members they are branded 'thugs' . . . .

This world is fu.cked up. If we use ebonics and hang out with gang bangers we are ghetto. We can't win. It's a lose lose situation.

why do we call people that are not white minorities?

becuas people are assholes and all they care about is making fun of other people so that they feel like there higher then them but reallt i hate racist people and personaly i think black people are more racist than white peopel im not racist but i live NYC and i get messed around wit more than black ppl do

yeah, and it is funny, I am Mexican born and rised, I came to the states at age 15, now I am 22.
And the funny part is that these mexican american trash kids once said "this n...... wants to be white"!!!!
