You would have to give up your existing first string quarterback. Worth the risk...? Brett Favre for...trade?

Report: Brett Favre Asked Packers to Trade Him

I wish I could tell you I'm joking, but I'm not. Brett Favre, the biggest name in Green Bay sports, had asked the team to trade him two or three days after the NFL Draft.

Favre, who is currently at home and does not plan on attending mandatory minicamp, has not hidden his disappointment with the Packers this offseason. He's been specifically vocal and upset over the Packers inability to land Randy Moss, who eventually went to the New England Patriots for a fourth-round draft choice.

"I don't know if I've lost faith, and I think everyone in the organization wants to win. I just don't know if it includes me. If it's going to be five years from now, I'm not going to be here. This is 17 years for me and I want to win," Favre said in an exclusive interview with Biloxi Sun Herald.
This all seems like a bit of a dream nightmare. Is there such a thing as Brett Favre without the Green Bay Packers? Is there such a thing as the Green Bay Packers without Brett Favre? Well, if he gets his wish there certainly will be.

I'm sure the Packers will do everything they can to make this blow over, but things sure have gone South in a hurry.

I am as big a Brett Favre fan as you can be, but it is time for him to retire he just doesnt have what it takes to lead or win games the way he used to.

My favorite team is the Cincinnati Bengals...so no, he couldn't replace Carson if he were 15 years younger and he wanted to... my opinion is (and has been for the past few years) that he needs to get his walker off the field and retire (no offense to fans, of course).

As far as the future of the Packers, something does need to happen and it can't hurt them much if Favre does leave. One game that comes to my mind is when they played the Bengals a few years ago. They may have come away with a win if he hadn't thrown 4 INT's. He single-handedly lost that game and Green Bay would be better off without him.

Kitna is good, Favre couldn't replace him, either. All the INT's I've seen him throw for the Lions have bounced off recievers arms, shoulders, hands, and bodies... If you don't want him, PLEASE send him back to:
1 Paul Brown Stadium
Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA
we could use a good back-up

I'll take my #18 over 2
#18/2=#9
But that's just cuz I like Carson, sorry.

The Green Packers will have problems this year and next regardless of what happens with Brett Farve, he still has talent and ability, if he trained really hard all year, he may be able to play two or three more years and I wish him luck wherever he winds up.
As my favorite team, the Chargers, I would rather stick with Phillip Rivers who finished his first year as a starter with pretty good stats and I expect that he will improve with more experience. When looking at the QB stats from last year though, you must also consider that the average QB in the AFC faced much better teams than the average QB in the NFC, it's sad to say but at this time the AFC owns the NFC.
The Green Bay Packers will continue without Brett, just like the Broncos did without Elway and the Dolphins did without Marino.

Brett Favre has a year or two left. Most teams that are close to the Super Bowl already have a quarterback of at least that caliber. No one that is BUILDING toward a super bowl would want Favre, he wont be around that long. The only way another team would want him would be if he was the ONE missing piece to their Super Bowl puzzle, and they thought they could get there NOW!

Not at all. JP Losman is much like Favre in his mentality and physical tools, and has begun to show that he is a capable leader as well. No need to give that up for what may well be an older version of what we already have, and any improvement won't matter because we're not a single piece away from a Super Bowl run. Right now we're on the "play-off wild card" phase...

Yes I would love to have Brett Favre on one of my favorite teams playing as the 1st string Quarterback because that would be great and all because he is a very good Qb still in the NFL on the Green Bay Packers. But anyways yes I would love to have him on my fav. team as the strating Qb because I think he could bring an NFL team pretty far if he had the chance to do so for them.

I would love to see Favre come to Dallas! I'm looking forward to many years of Tony Romo at the reins but come on, how many chances does your potential franchise QB get at studying under a future hall of famer and one of the greatest QB's in the history of the game?

Hey Jerry, do some wheeling n' dealing and get Favre here! Heck, we've had every other over-the-hill QB come through here in the last few years, why not one that still has some gas in the tank?!

It wouldnt hurt seeing Favre lead the Cowboys, I think he'd teach Romo well especially cuz Favre is Romo's Idol. Favre could put some stability in at QB for this season, say by playing the 1st half and letting Romo play 2nd half or w/e and I think that'd be great... I mean Romo is ok, but I would like to see Favre throwin for the 'Boys just for one year

The Cowboys, Raiders and a few other clubs could have Favre for a reasonable price. They ought to make a serious offer to Green Bay while Ted Thompson still has his head buried in the sand.

Farve is still a very good quarterback, certainly in the top half of the league, maybe even top third.

However, I am a Colts fan and I think I'll take #18 over any quarterback to ever play the game including a declining #4.
