Every day should be a celebration of parenthood, partnership (if you're in one) a celebration of life in fact. Mothering Sunday, which was back in March here in UK, has been turned into another capitalist money spinner. Now we have Fathers day and even Grandparents day. Its insulting our intelligence, suggesting we need to be reminded to say thanks to the people who look/ed after us!
I don't need sheparding into a mass thank you, I can say, and show appreciation all the time. I chose to give gifts and thanks whenever I can, not when told to!

Absolutely. I used to send my best friend's Dad a card on Mother's Day and he was always so touched (for a tough guy!) He did twice the job and he did an awesome job too.

Do you not have Fathers day? Or are you going to send single mothers a card on Father's day?

Does that mean we should say "Happy Father's Day" to all mums who raise their kids alone?

Yes great idea! Remind them of how their childs mother died or just up and left them. That will really make them feel good.
Kids of today, honestly.
