Probably not. There's just not the demand in Japan, where Ranma is passe.

Even in its day, Ranma was never as popular as Takahashi's earlier series Urusei Yatsura. I think it has also been surpassed by Inu-Yasha. Point being: if there's a Takahashi series to be revisited, Ranma is fairly far down the list.

I know what you mean by wanting a sequel though. Ranma is one of my personal favorites, and I'd definitely like to see more of it. There's a lot of unresolved romantic tension in Ranma. (Of course, it couldn't be resolved without really terminating the story, and precluding further sequels... Ranma and Akane never get their act together for the same reason that Gilligan never gets off the island.)

Anyway... even though Takahashi is incredibly unlikely to revisit the series, there's plenty of fan fiction which continues the story. A lot of it is junk, but there are some very good ones. Vince Seifert's "Taming of the Horse" keeps the original flavor of the series and does a really good job of wrapping up the story:

I remember reading an article about her 7 years ago and they asked this question. She said no she wouldn't go back and do a sequel or anything like that because she felt the ending was justified. Although you never know I hope she does I really enjoyed Ranma 1/2.
