I wonder if you have what's called wry neck and/or torticollis. If that's the case, you'd need to see a doctor about getting some muscle relaxers or possibly physical therapy.

Regularly stretching your neck muscles should eventually help, I would think. Side to side and holding it, forward and back and diagonal, especially in areas you really feel the stretch, but be gentle! If your sitting at the computer for too long, for example, you'd have to stretch and take breaks more often. Besides stretching, a strengthener exercise of pushing your chin inwards (giving yourself a double chin) will feel weird, but hold for 10 seconds, then let go. Do sets and reps, and in time should help strengthen as well.
Your head weighs more the further you stick you head out (example trying to read a computer screen you can quite see from the distance your sitting). You could be trying to hold up 70 lbs (even though that's not what you head weighs, when calculated out with the degree your stretching your head, the further it goes, the more it weighs. That's what my stretching instructor told me).

Oh, that is odd. Sometimes that happens to me once a year (and my back really REALLY hurts when this happens) but not all of the time. Do you experience any pain with this at all? Either way, I would call a chiropracter as soon as possible. I hope that you get to feeling better!

Could be an ear infection. We had a toy poodle in for grooming and she held her head like that. Owners thought she had a stroke but it was a nasty ear infection. Once it was gone she was back to normal. Get the vet to scope the ears then go from there.

Chiropractor and physical therapy should help a little, or at least help you figure out what's going on. Good luck and good health to you!

Relax your neck more.
Maybe accupuncture will help.
Or even a massage.
