In the last year, I have lost about 40 pounds. It started when I lost my job and I just wasn't able to get things down because of the depression or stress. I did try to eat SOMETHING every 3 hours because I know how important food is to my health. And I LOVE food.
That being said, I am forever getting comments from people I have known since I was heavier. Family, neighbors, friends. They ask every time if I have lost even more weight and I haven't. They just don't see me every day and are reminded that I have lost so much when they see me. My husband and son and mother aren't among those that make these comments. They think I am fine. Those that I have been working with never say a thing - and they only knew me after the weight loss. I am 5'5" and 115-120 pounds. I am really small boned and my mother has the same stick arms and legs that I have - and have always even when heavier. Just seems more obvious now. What would you say to the comments? It's almost like they think I'm sick.

Forty pounds is a lot to lose, and people are not used to seeing you so thin. When they make those comments, smile and say that your weight is holding steady now and that you feel great. Then compliment them on how they look. People love to hear another say good things about them, and it will take the focus off of your weight.

i think it is nice that they noticed that you have lost some weight and they probably saying that you look a lot better but for someone like me when people only talk about my weight i would get pretty ticked off wanting to ask them do you ever think of anything else? but being 5'5" you are the perfect weight you should be around 115-120 that means you have a small frame

Where do people get off!!! I think that slim people have just as many issues with weight as heavier people. I always feel that if I am not winging about my weight then everyone else has no business saying anything. I'm sure you look great.

Most people probably think you lost weight on purpose. Most people need to lose weight and see it as an accomplishment when it is acheived. I wish I could lose 40 lbs....I would be thrilled! Just tell everyone that asks, that you are healthy and happy and doing great but thanks for the concern.

Just tell them you are trying the latest catwalk model look and with their comment, it showed that it worked. Or you can answer them with a question like, "Do you know how many people in the world are spending billions at the slimming studios to look like me? I achieved this through my own determinded effort. Do you like it?"

The only thing that should matter is how happy are you with your weight ? Because as long as you are happy with your weight , that's all that should matter. You have got to love yourself for you , don't let what other people say bother you.

To the people who are close to you, tell them its making you uncomfortable and to please not mention your weight any more. Say it's not a huge issue for you and that you wish they wouldnt make a big deal out of it either.

We have similar frames...I go through comments alot too. People just don't get it sometimes. It's genetics. Doesn't mean we don't eat, or are starving ourselves...just plain old genetics.

Tell them that you're confident with your body and to hell with them.
