outside my home while we were visiting a friend, my daughter was subjected to an interview conducted by CPS. I was all for it, but now I think it may have been a mistake. The caseworker decided to drop the charges against the other person, but she also asked my daughter if myself and her dad ever fight. She told them that sometimes we argue. Now they want to open a case against me for arguing in front of my children.

Now we argue ocassionally and unfortunately sometimes the kids over hear it, but does that really constitute abuse or even the need to investigate. I am appalled at how serious the orginial investigation was and how irrevelant the current one is. Does anyone know what I need to do at this point? The investigation hasn't actually started, but has been referred to a different department within CPS.

In reply to the red flag. The red flag was the fact that my daughter said we argued, in which the caseworker stated that she disagreed with CPS policies in this state on this issue.
I also would like to say that with any disagreement there is a resolution. So, how would my children learn to resolve their disageements if they never see it?

1, Call DA and tell them Cps has dropped a molestation case without properly investigating.
Did she see a psychiatrist or a phsycian?

2. Get your local newspaper or tv station to broadcast your situation for all to know what is going on

You need to go to Local DA ASAP get him to tell you what you need to do to file a complaint against CPS for not looking properly into your child's sexual abuse case!!!!!
DONT STOP!

Did you contact the police concerning the attmepted molestation? If not, they need to investigate and get CPS to back down. CPS is not authorized to drop charges against these people, only the DA will be able to do that.

Get an attorney that specializes in dealing with CPS. Do not take this lightly. Tape record any communication with CPS, let them know that you are taping them. Keep good notes. Consider going to the media. GOOD LUCK

Well, something your daughter said during the interview was a red light for CPS.

If you and your husband are good parents and not abusive, you have nothing to worry about. Just answer the questions asked and let them look around. If there is something there, it will be discovered....if there is nothing - no worries.

CPS is way out of line here. They're letting a child molester of scott free and invading your private lives. Get the media involved. GET AN ATTORNEY.

Find a news team that likes to handle personal interest cases. This would be just the thing that they'd like to show. I'd be very surprised if the idiotic case worker doesn't back down. Unless it is one of those stupid AND idiotic ones that doesn't know how to let go.

You might want to contact a lawyer as well. The case could get serious quickly. There are lawyers that specialize in cases like this but I can't remember what the specialty is called.

Talk to that case workers supervisor. Everyone argues once in a while. As long as it doesn't get out of hand it is healthy for kids to see disagreements - but beware - they are learning from you on how to handle disagreements.
