Usually, the best way to show gratitude is to say "thank you" upon services rendered; you keep in mind what others have done for you to help you along, and to return the favor any time you can. Usually, that makes gratitude a two-way street and causes lasting friendships.
And even if you come across someone you've never met before who seems in need of help, you should at least offer it, if you have the time, even if it's only just barely. Giving that option for help to people in need goes a long way in furthering yourself along in this world.
I guess my only warning would be to survey a given situation before stepping in; some people take intrusions very personally and I've been in fights with people, merely because I didn't stop to wonder if they really needed help, or if they were doing something shady and I was intruding upon something that needed no assistance. I guess you have your own life in your hands, when you're asking someone if they need help, but most people don't take it too personally.

The best way to express gratitude is to live it everyday. Gratitude is a genuine heartfelt connection to the gift of life and invites the universe to bring more good into your life because you're so grateful for what you already have.
Gratitude is knowing that you, life, and everything in between are all good...all the time...

With pure sincerity from your heart. Those two words Thank you can go a long way. They are the very essence of gratitude. Just like saying I Love You... These words reach out and truly touch people. We all have a need from time to time to know we matter, that we count for something. It is satisfying to ones soul...

I think you just did! In personal contact, we can express gratitude in many different ways; our response through body language, voice inflection so on & so on. Showing pleasure in whatever the person/s did. Here, the very best you can do, is say thank you. & so very nice of you to do so! I don't know what question you're referring to, but they all seem irresistible to me, evcocative--& I think you get more answers than anyone. In this case, "Thank you" is the only way. & I thank YOU for making me think, ponder, explore.
Edit: I forgot a big hug!

lol, I don't remember complimenting you, but I'll say now... I do like your questions. And it's not a compliment, it's a way of expressing openly my likes and dislikes. (because I don't know why, but I think the idea of "complimenting" implies a dose of unsincerity or fakeness... it's a bit forced). and you don't have to express your gratitude in any way, just continue asking, lol

To grant freedom; to avoid implication of obligation.
Sometimes people get in a mind set which assumes
the stance that stating the words "please" and/or
"thank you" obligates the subject of the words to
repeat at the convenience of the thanker. In my opinion,
to state "thank you" after a subject is to imply something
gracious has been done, job completion. The subject
has completed a task and it is within the subject's
discretion of motivation to provide the service again.
To practice a method in which good service is rewarded
with obligation to continue then the good doer loses
their volition and in extreme applications can be
equated to reward by enslavement. Gratitude is
best shown by leniency and freedom from obligation.

The best way to express gratitude ..
( and not just for what example you give )
is to keep it always in your mind for whom you felt for .. and then on the right time .. you will show it ..
Even if it take years .. there is always sometimes.. the other person need someone there to be beside him/ her . ( even not beside or just to stand there in favor of them ) .
If you did that .. i think you will be .. a great person ..
Have a great day ..
Good luck ..
