I had a screw in my tire, and so I brought it in to get the tire fixed. Now, every time I drive on the freeway for more than 10 mins, the tire pressure light come on. I checked the air pressure, and it says that it is fine. Is there something wrong then with the tire or the light?

The Scion TC has a factory recommended tire pressure of 32 psi front, 29 psi rear. When you check your pressures make sure the tires are "cold" - the car should have been sitting for at least a few hours.

The TPMS was almost certainly reset at the time of the service or else the light would be on all the time.

The tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced, re-inflated or the tires have been rotated. You can re-initialize the system by following these steps: 1. check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure 2. turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch. 3 now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times. 4 initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

I have an '06 tC and this happened also when I put on aftermarket tires. The reason is because the sensor was not reset or the sensor on the tire fell off.

To reset the sensor light:

Open your glove box. Find the reset button on the upper left. Turn your car on and put it in Neutral. Press the button for 3-5 seconds, or until the pressure light goes off. Then drive for about 5-10 miles. If the light stays off you are ok. If it comes back on, take it to the dealer to have them check the sensor in the tire.

is the pressure the same as its supposed to be according to scion? if so u need to find out how to reset that light, theres usually a way like resetting the maint reqd light. i have a scion xa and u have to hold the trip reset button while turning the key to on and it resets the maint reqrd light. look in the manual to see how to reset the tire pressure light.

If you did not take it to your Scion/Toyota dealer, they probably did not reset the computer to recognize that the flat was fixed. If you are not losing air, it is likely something to do with your system that monitors this. Take it back and have it checked.

Too much pressure?

Air expands as it gets hot. Therefore the air pressure in the tire increases and sets off the pressure switch.

Low tire pressure will set it off too.
Check ALL your tires when they're cold.
32-35 psi. (generaly)

Depending on where you are located, you may need to have the air replaced by helium, Big O tire can refill them, they have the green valve caps also, it supposed to keep it more stable in different altitudes. I found this out after renting a car with that sensor in Colorado.

if youre sure the tire is ok then more than likely the sensor just needs to be reset.
