My 1991 Jeep Cherokee stopped running. I was driving along and the oil light began to flash as I came to a stop. I was only a few miles from my house, so I thought I could make it becuase the oil light would turn off when I got going again. While about a mile from my house the engine died at a stop sign. I tried cranking the engine and nothing happened. No cranking sound or anything. What could be wrong? I had just checked my oil earlier and it was halfway between full and low.

It could be your oil pump.

Check oil again. Sounds like it is seized. Also check battery. Do any lights come on?

You blew up your engine.........

ADDED:
I'm just kidding.
Your battery is probably dead.
Bad alternator, or bad connections at the battery.
