Currenly I'm under seperation with my wife and my girlfriend is expecting my child. Few thing I'll like to know.

i) When the child is born, will I be legally the child's father and can the child's birth cert bear my name as the father?

ii) If it's negative, how should I go about becoming the child's legal father after my seperation?

iii) Will the mother (my girlfriend) be entitled to the government's grant for newborn?

iv) Is there any legal implication from my current marriage/seperation?

v) It'll be good if ayone can input some pointers that I should take note of and not asked in these questions.

Thanks in Advance.....

Thanks Blitz.
I'm the Biological father of the child.
Currently I'm under seperation with my wife, I mean, legally seperated, supported with seperation deed.
Paper did state that we can't interfere with each other's freedom in doing anything, be it personal or work.
Still it is considered as adultery?

Why haven't you gotten a divorce yet? You are going to be a Father and still married to someone else. Sign the birth certificate once the child is born. Legally, your still married, so first you need to take care of one problem at a time. I would suppose she would get some government assistant, but as the legal father you will have to pay that back. You need to stop with this nonsense and get the divorce and next take care of your child. Seek a lawyer and he will give you the advise you will need.

You need an attorney. No one can advise you of this because it seems too complicated. A few basic things:

The girlfriend can name the baby whatever she wants and can even use your last name. The birth certificate can have any name on it too. If you are not the father then paternity still will need to be established as the baby's biological father has the right to claim the baby. So, you would not be able to do anything until that is resolved. Of course there are legal implications to your current marriage; it's called adultery and more than likely your wife can take you for quite a bit. Again, get an attorney - you are going to need one.
