I agree with you. Oliver Perez is the future of the Mets. He's got Cy Young pitching stuff since the year he led the NL in strikeouts. So far, John Maine has been great with his nasty running fastball striking out opposing batters, but he needs to bring back his 12-6 curve from last year to solidify his pitching.

My team is the Royals and right now that guy is Gil Meche. KC isn't a great offensive team (they can put up some runs, but are woefully inconsistent). Meche is the only pitcher they have that gives KC a chance to win every time out. He's the ace of the staff and the stopper (stops the losing streak). So far he's 3-1 (should be 5-1, bullpen blew 2 save behind him so far) 2.15 era, 42Ks and only 14 walks in 54.1 innings. He gives the team a quality start (7IP w/less than 3 ER) almost every time out. Certainly the key man for the Royals.

Oliver Perez had one good game. John Maine is the best pitcher on the Mets, but the real backbone for the Mets is three guys named Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, and David Wright. When those guys are on top of their game, the Mets are unbeatable. As for my favorite team, the Cubs, the key man is Derek Lee. The guy is a hitting machine, and when he has a great game, the Cubs have a great chance of winning.

For my team I would say Papelbon. After so many years of guys like Lowe,Williamson, and the one year wonder Foulke,Its nice to have a guy who's truly good at sealing the deal at the end.
I have to laugh at your Oliver Perez statement though. The key man for your team is Jose Reyes.Hits for power, average,hi runs and rbis and 50 steal per year capable. He's arguably the best baseball player of our time.If I had a choice between him and Pujols I'd rather see Reyes in a Red Sox uniform any day.A leadoff man like that makes the whole team better cause he gets on base often and with his speed the meat of the order will see alot of fastball because they want to catcher to have a chance to pick him off when he steals.Pujols carries his team, but Reyes makes his entire team better cause they see alot more good pitches every time he reaches base.

My key man is Adam Wainwright. After striking out the Carlos Beltran in the NLCS last year and getting us into the world series, Cardinal nation is forever in his debt.
HAHA i'm just messing with you. My key guy is either Albert Pujols for the Cardinals (I live in Stl soooo i gotta say I love em.) without Phat Al we would be in even bigger trouble than we are now.
My other main man is Chris Young for the Diamondbacks. The rook is carrying the team to a good start..

Jeez, for my team which is Detroit, pick one really. U got Jeremy Bonderman, Kenny Rogers(when he comes off the DL), and Justin Verlander. Not to say anything bad about Mike Maroth and Nate Robertson, but right now Bonderman and Verlander are the aces. Also you gotta look at the pen they have. I believe they should have kept Jamie Walker but they still have Fernando Rodney, Joel Zumaya, and Todd Jones. Along with Zach Miner, Wilfredo Ledezma, Jason Grilli and Jose Mesa, you really can't go wrong.

You are completely retarded for even saying that Oliver Perez is a contributing pitcher in the majors. Will someone please look at this ERA over the past couple of years? Yes, it averages out to what a dental floss thin 6.50. You obviously are not a fan of baseball and one of those people who think they are smart for noticing a good game by a realitively small name. Shut up and you should be revoked from asking questions. As for the Tigers, obviously its a slu of players ranging from Sheff and Mags to Jones and Verlander.
