I think it is just you. I've found that both male and female history teachers seem to be equal. It really all comes down to which teacher can make the subject more interesting. In high school I had 2 female history teachers and 2 male history teachers. It was split for me because 1 male and 1 female teacher made the class so boring. The other 2 made me enjoy history. Once I got to college level I found that the same thing applies. It all comes down to the teacher and their teaching style not their sex.

Are you a guy? Most teenage boys relate better to their women teachers than their male teachers while teenage girls relate better to their male teachers. Perhaps the reason you find your female teachers more interesting than your male teachers is that you feel less threatened by them (or at least that's my Freudian interepretation). In some cultures, however, men (at least at the university level) feel thereatened by female authority figures.
