u can try the coffee thing but that never works for me. if i want to stay up I take a shower (not too warm), listen to upbeat music, or just go outside for a little bit - the air really helps me. also getting something to eat when im on the brink of sleep wakes me up a little (but only fruit stuff the other stuff just gets me even more tired). Tape your eyelids to your forehead. It won't work (the tape will come off) but the thinking process that your mind has to go through to do something strange and foreign will wake you up for awhile. In a 1/2 hour you might have to put newspaper between all your toes.

Drink lots and lots of coffee, mountain dew or Jolt cola; take No Doz; take a really, really cold shower and then sit over the air conditioner (might take cold, but you'll be awake); play loud music.

A 30 minute cat nap can work wonders. I do it all the time. (Some of my passengers have been scared, but they didn't know I had the cruise control turned on.)
