U.S. States? Arkansas is the closest to a traditional trapezoid. Oregon and other "rectangular" states need to be examined to see if they qualify as trapezoids-it could be distortion of the map that makes them appear to be square or rectangular.

So, Colorado, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Wyoming, Alabama, Connecticut and Rhode Island should all be checked.

Straight Lines were inconvienant to use. Natural boundries were easier to recognize for many reasons.

A trapezoid is a 4-sided figure with one pair of parallel sides. Technically, a rectangle and squares are also trapezoids.

I would say Colorado and Wyoming would best fit the description, and possibly Nevada if you draw it as having 4 sides.
