There was a scam a while back where a very presentable guy (expensive clothes, cultured language, excellent manners) would walk into a dealership and engage the sales rep in conversation, asking knowledgeable questions about a car on the floor, making informed comments about the car's capabilities, and describing his experiences with similar cars.
Eager to make a sale (or place an order, more likely, since most of these are sold well in advance), the sales rep would eventually offer a test drive.
The salesperson would accompany the prospect, of course.
Somewhere on the test drive, the prospect would ask if the salesperson heard something. He would describe it as a noise coming from the engine.
The salesperson would not hear anything. The prospect would insist, eventually asking the salesperson to drive the car. The salesperson would still hear nothing.
"Maybe I'm imagining it," says the con man. "Tell you what. I'll get out, you rev the engine, and I'll see if I hear it from outside."
The salesperson would do so, and the con man would exclaim, "I think I know what it is," and describe a noise coming from somewhere around the engine. "Here. Listen for your self," as he holds the door open for the salesperson to get out so he can get in and rev the engine.
The salesperson gets out, the con man gets in, and drives the car away, leaving the salesperson standing there, never to be seen again.
The license of which the dealership made a copy is fake, of course.

uh ya. thats a crooks dream. They probably won't take the whole car since they are easy to track down but they will take those great car parts and run off. It is rediculous why someone would buy that car when they can get a regular, standard car for literally 12X cheaper. And you can't drive 200 miles per hour on streets. And crooks will steal the car and it's parts every 5 minutes. Is it really worth it you decide
