Virus. Or some really bad Adware is my guess. Do you have good Antivirus program installed? Every computer that is connected to the Internet these days needs one. You should also have a good program that gets rid of malware/adware such as Ad-Aware (it's free online, just go to their website). I run Ad-Aware every time I get off the internet and before I shut down my computers. I get an average of about 10 critical hits every time I get off online.
You also may want to check if you installed any new software or hardware lately.

I had almost the same problem. My PC restarts frquently without any reason. It was because of virus. So get an antivirus, update it and scan the whole computer. I recommend avast! Home Edition (It's free but you need to register which is also free). Or you can use AVG AntiVirus if it's still having free vesion. Another alternative is Avira AntiVir. It's free too.

that happened to my laptop. If you don't have a virus there is a problem with the computer itself not the software. If you go to best buy or some place like that they'll check it for free. With my computer it was the fan and the mother board, they were blown out.

You can try to restore it to an earlier date when it was working well. You could be losing the operating system. If so, you can reinstall Windows from the disk, but first try to restore for the resource disk.
