Auction for Detective Comics #27: http://scoop.diamondgalleries.com/scoop_article.asp?ai=14118&si=123

A better copy of Detective was going for less than what Action went for. I'd say Action Comics wins out.

The last time I checked it was Action Comics #1 (the first appearance of Superman), with Detective Comics #27 (the first appearance of Batman) not far behind. According to the 2005 Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, Action Comics #1 is worth $485,000 in Mint condition while Detective Comics #27 is worth $410,000 in mint condition. I'm sure the values of both have gone up since then.

It would be either Action Comics #1, 1938 (National Periodicals), or Marvel Comics #1, 1939 (published by Timely Comics) featuring the first appearances of the Human Torch, and the Sub-Mariner.

From what I know it's issue # 1 action comics Superman. It was the first hero comic ever.Death of Superman was worth $10,000 a few years after it's release, so issue 1 should be in the hundred thousands maybe more.
