I think that Randy Moss is not the answer here. But I do believe that management is the problem. Favre is at the end of his career, and seeing how the Packers do what they can to persuade him to come back, it's awful that they don't do anything to get him help. The Packers have had a history over the last SEVERAL years of drafting busts. So trading a bust for some decent potential wouldn't have been that bad of an idea. However, Moss is not the kind of guy that would do well with the Packers' scheme. They play mid-range, precision routes. Moss is the kind of player that wants to run down field and have the ball dropped into his hands. Favre is good, but not likely that good at this point in his career. Keyshawn might do better than Moss, but still not likely. The Pack have built for the future, and keep adding hopes and dreams. They need to land a few key free agents that can add reality and stability instead. And a few SMART trades wouldn't hurt either.

First mistake was not trading for Micheal Turner. It would have cost them a 1 and a 3. So you trade Harrell and WR James Jones for Turner. That would have solved their RB problem. Randy Moss? The Packers are not that good so when they lose 3 in a row will he quit? Don't take that chance with him. I say sign Keyshawn. He is a pain but he is dedicated to win and can still produce 60-70 catches and can help in the red zone.
Favre has got to be more realistic. Where is he going to go? What winning team needs a QB right now? None really. The Raiders, Minnesota, Miami and KC can use a QB but which of those teams are playoff contenders? Maybe KC, maybe. If they traded him he would be in no better position than he is now.
Ted Thompson needs to fill some holes now. Dillon is out there and so is Keyshawm. That's it. Both are on the back nine of their career but both can help a young offense. Ted Thompson has to do something to save face in GB. He is public enemy number 1 right now.

Ted Thompson believes in building through the draft, so while Harrell wasnt it a great pick it goes w/ his philosophy. James Jones is a black horse and so was Greg Jennings and look how that turned out. Last year GB had 5 rookies starting and growing throughout the season. The OLine will be better, the WR core will be better. The D-Line will be perfect now that there are 7 guys(Kampman,Jenkins,KGB, Williams,Cole,Pickett, and Harrell) all competeing for 4 starting spots and 1 or 2 situational spots. The LB core has the potential to be the #1 in the division now that Briggs may not return to CHI. And if GB had a decent SS then they would have a top-notch secondary seeing as Collins is getting better and Harris/Woodson made a good duo. Plus the Favre rumors hardly have a single shred of truth

OK folks, one last time. It's the PACKERS not the FAVRES. GMs on every team are working hard to get their team to win a super bowl. It's their job to put together a winning team, not to keep their QB happy. There is nothing that say Moss wouldn't cause more trouble than he's worth. People said the Raiders would be super bowl bound when they got Moss. Did it happen? Thompson got a team that was a mess because they kept shelling out money to give Favre "one last super bowl run". Well, they had it on 4th and 26th. They failed and they had a bunch of overpaid guys like KGB and a Joe Johnson signing that failed. So Thompson cleared the cap, and is building the team through the draft. The best way to do it. When you sign big name guys you get average talent at a high price. So just relax and watch this team develop. Besides, you say Thompson doesn't know how to draft. Well, Seattle went to a super bowl a year ago and is a top team, he put that team together. So he does know how to draft and trade. I've been a Packer fan for years and to see them condemn their guy because of a draft which could be awesome but they don't want to wait and see it dumb. Hearing you guys is making me embarrassed to be a Packer fan. Relax and see how the team plays first. Jeez.

plain and simple, no matter what moves Thompson coulda or shoulda made, this team is nowhere near Super Bowl contender. even in the NFC. if Favre wants one more, he better go hold a clipboard in New England, Indy, or some team with a fighting chance.
add one more thing to the list of Thompson's faults- can't do a good job of replacing Favre and nudging him toward the door. that will hold up the progress of this team another year. not only will it be a losing season and a crappy farewell sendoff for Favre, they're not likely to come up with a solution about who's their next QB.

i agree on some level, but i also agree with the first guy...players do not have control over the management, but if there's one person in professional sports with that kind of control it's probably brett favre...his goal is to win a championship, he's been coming back just for that purpose, and he's been putting his faith in management to make the packers a championship team, and they haven't been able to do that...the problem here is that the packers have the talent to win now and they clearly haven't done what's in the best interests of the team overall, not just favre...so thompson is definitely in some hot water here

Thompson is a retard. i hate him he cannot run a team if his life depended on it. even in his press confrences he sounds stupid and confused. he had the worst draft i have ever seen he passed up on moss for a 4th rounder ( Moss wanted 3 mill and favre said he would have taken a pay cut to get moss) and he picks some crappy WR. he is driving the packers into the ground. I think i would rather have millen. ( and that is saying a lot) Thompson needs to be fired and i think he will be soon.

Thompson is the downfall of Green Bay. Justin Harrell may turn into a dominant force, they needed a tackle, and got one. The Ravens won the Super Bowl with defense, why can't the Packers? Randy Moss would have cost a 4th rd pick. Why not get him and if he pulls a T.O. then cut him and he is out of football. If you have a good core together(i.e. the Patriots) then you can take questionable character guys and win.

The Packers are in the middle of planning for the future and trying to win today. It's a tough situation to be in when you are doing both and rarely works. They need to figure out what they want to do, but unfortunately are at the mercy of Favre. Once they figure out what they want to do (build for the future or today) then they need to execute it - which I think they will.

I think that you are even stupider than Favre to believe that Moss is going to take the Pack to the SB.
