The war in Iraq cost 2 billion dollars a week. The US is deeply in debt, the value of the dollar is falling, and our economy has no backbone. Due to outsourcing of jobs, as well as dramatic socioeconomic class divisions between the rich and the poor, the economy is unstable.

Our electrical grid goes out every year. We couldn't afford to repair the levies in New Orleans before Katrina. We can't afford to replace the crumbling bridges. Our borders are open, and we are low on military equipment for our national guard in some areas. I guess maybe we can afford the war if we can live with a crumbled U.S. infrastructure.

Yes we can tighten our belts a little and stay the course. We can't afford to pull out. If we don't complete the job, think of what the terrorists will do when they slip across the Us/Mexican border.
The current high oil prices are adding billion of dollars to the terrorists war chests and you can bet your bottom dollar they will use it on us in the US if we don't face them down in some other country.

No, they cannot afford to be in Iraq. The people at home need this money that is being wasted... who is going to help our own citizens?

Considering the war in Iraq is costing less than a % of the GNP, sure we can stay.

So long as inflation stays low and the economy (which is very good, record-setting in fact, despite what liberal news channels say) continues strong.
