it wasn't even a starbucks-type of cafe; it was just one you would find anywhere. anyway, i bought two slices, an oreo slice and a strawberry slice. i wouldn't have bought it at all if they showed the price but they didn't. and they weren't even big slices. i paid $7.04 for two slices of small mediocre cakes. was it expensive?

no it wasn't good. i initially bought it for my mom for mother's day but she had a bite and said it was too sweet; i agreed with her. if it was good and my mom liked it; i wouldn't have cared about the price. but my mom hated it and so did i. that's a different story. it was called "amy's cafe". nothing like godiva or something fancy schnancy so don't go there. on top of that, im 14 and don't have a job. so my "income" is $20 allowance a week. oh yeah, the slices didn't even taste fresh.

Unless they hiked up the price per slice just for Mother*s Day I*d say with your age and innocence that you were taken advantage of. Most of the restaurant*s that I have been in do sell slices of pie and cake but the average going price here in Alabama is about $1.50=$2.00 per slice. What you paid for those 2 slices would have bought the whole cake here. Chalk it up to a life experience and you*ll be more aware of these things from now on. I never purchase anything without first getting a price quote, especially if it isn*t marked.
For your own peace of mind...you can always call the manager of the place and make a complaint. May not mean anything but at least your voice was heard. Good luck and God bless

Hmm... yeah ya did, if it wasn't particulary nummy cake. If it was cheesecake than it's an all right indulgence, but just your run of the mill cake? Yeah then that's not a great price. It all depends on the resturant and the location really. If you are still unhappy about it though, write a comment card to the manager, and you might get a refund or at least a free piece.

If you know you got ripped off, which you seem to, why are you even asking this question? It's just 7 dollars. Yes, you could buy a new shirt with it or something, but you didn't lose that much. Let's say it was actually worth 2 dollars. You only lost 5. It's money, and can buy many things, but you can earn it back with maybe half an hour of baby-sitting. Life goes on.

Next time buy a cake mix at Hy-Vee for 99 cents and buy a frosting mix for 99 cents and make it yourself. It will be more meaningful. If you want to you can buy a cake decorating kit rather inexpensively through The Pampered Chef.

3.50 for a small slice of cake is ridiculous. You would have done better making a whole cake yourself. At least you know now though--just live and learn

Yeah a little bit. I paid $7.50 for a piece of Godiva cheesecake. Was it expensive? Yes but trust me it was well worth it lol.

Seeing as how it probably took less than $5 worth of ingredients to make the entire cake, I'd say you're a victim of bakery inflation.

Yes sweetie you got it...

You could have easily paid for a box of mix and baked it yourself. And you would have enjoyed it so much more....
Or not to be cheap gone to (fiesta). But smile we all live and learn some times when you listen we learn ask for advise... and decide....

No way...try going to Europe, over there it's 4-5 pounds ($8-9 dollars) and it's like a fourth the size you get over here. 3.50 is not bad depending on the size ya get.
