i need to know what the best scene in shawshank redemption was. im doing a presentation and i need to show a clip of it, preferrably one that doesn't spoil the movie.

There isn't a scene in that movie that isn't the BEST!
It's my favorite movie!

Well I would steer clear of the gang rape scenes for sure if I were you...
Along with the other fine answers above, I think Andy's first night in lockup was powerful, when Captain Hadon (?) played by Clancy (The Kergin) Brown beats the blubbering new guy to a pulp and leaves him to die. It let you know right away that prison was not going to be a fun place for Andy.

when andy dewfrane (tim robbins) sticks his neck out to help one of the prison guards with a money issue and only demands two beers for each of his co-workers as payment, this scene starts a long plot line of hime helping out other prison guards and inmates and becomes a leading character in the movie

I personally like the scene where he comes out of the pipe and is stading in the rain not sure if that would spoil it or not.

the scene where andy (played by tim robbins) goes in2 the control tower, locks the door, and puts an opera record on the PA system...it's beautiful...
