Yes and no. Yes, we should be concerned about it, because we should be concerned about inequality anywhere that it exists (which at this point is everywhere, I'm pretty sure).

However, there is much more urgent and dangerous inequality in other parts of the world that needs more immediate attention. There are places where full scale genocide is taking place (like Darfur). There are places where people are enslaved. There are places where women are beaten to death for wearing clothes that reveal their ankles. There are places where victims of rape are expected to kill themselves as a matter of honor, rather than the perpetrator being punished. As long as these sorts of things are going on, the inequality in the U.S. doesn't seem to be a very urgent concern.

What kind of inequality? For example, economic inequality is inevitable in a capitalist society but racial inequality is absolutely unnecessary and evil.

There is always inequality in any society. The question is do we acknowledge it and try to find ways to obliterate it.
