The more babies you have, the heavier they get.

When I was having my eldest (a modest 7lb 6oz) an older lady (40-ish) came in to the hospital to have her 6th child.

She was well advanced in labour when she came in. She had been at her sister's silver wedding anniversary party and didn't want to leave because she was enjoying herself so much.

And she had had quite a lot of alcohol. (This was in the days before women were advised not to drink alcohol in pregnancy. I still have my Pregnancy Advice Booklet from that time and it says, "Don't drink too much alcohol. You may fall over and damage your baby". I am NOT KIDDING and am prepared to photocopy the page and post it on the net if no one believes me!)

Anyway, this drunk lady gave birth to a bouncing 14lb boy.
She was shouting the place down becuse the medical staff wouldn't give her any pain relief as she was so inebriated!

In those days (and I'm talking 33 years ago) you stayed in hospital for a week or 10 days after having your baby.

But this lady's husband turned up the next day with a carry-cot and a set of baby clothes and they went off, happy as anything, swinging their new arrival between them in his carry-cot.

Never saw anything like it in my life. What a woman! If only I had her b*lls!

My grandson was 11 pounds. My son was 10, with no c-section. Ouch.

A friend of mine who would be lucky if she weighed 100lbs, she is a seriously small girl, had a 10lb9 baby naturally. We still arent quite sure where this huge baby came from, her hubby is only maybe 20lbs heavier than her. After they had weighed the baby, let her have a shower and cleaned the baby up, her hubby came back into the room with the baby and she asked how heavy he was, when told, her first reaction was 'are you sure you followed the right baby?'

My mother had 3 large babies all via C section. They weighed 9.5 10.5 and 11.6. My father was a 14lbs baby. So yes babies over 11lbs can and are born.

My poor mother in -law. My husband weighed 12 and half pounds. she was so miserable with him. My husband was a month and half late. she had a c-section. my son who's almost three months weighs as much as his daddy ,when hes daddy was born. My husband had tons of hair and the nurses love to fix his hair up.

Biggest baby I ever met, 16lbs even at birth. He had a younger brother who weighed over 12lbs. His third child weighed just under 12lbs. Diabetes runs heavily in that family.
