I am looking for a good book that revolves around the French Revolution. I'm not looking for an encyclopedia article or a book with straight facts but more of a novel in the way that Killer Angels is about the American Civil War. All suggestions appreciated, but is there one book in particular that is well known?

If you feel like a long book, try Les Miserables. One of my personal favorites. You might want to get an abridged version though. Theres some really good stuff in there, but also some seemingly random and often boring.

Les Miserables isn't related to the French Revolution! The e book you like is Thomas Carlyle's "The French Revolution", an mind-blowing artwork of scholarship and literature, written in an quite instantaneous, journalistic form.

A Tale of Two Cities. Pax - C

Incidently, Les Miserables is not about the French Revolution contrary to what the person down below me says. It is about the Paris uprising on June 5–6, 1832. Common mistake made by people who havent read it and dont understand histoire francais.
