it depends on a lot of things. if both the sc and the turbo at set to the same boost level then the peak horsepower should be close to the same with the turbo peaking a tad higher. the reason the turbo will peak a bit higher is that that sc uses engine power to drive the sc and thus taking away from some of the horsepower, the turbo uses waste heat from the exhaust to turn its impeller. the sc will start buildin boost at lower rpms than the turbo but usually they start to run out of breath at higher rpm, the turbo will come on later in the rpm range but will still deliver boost at the top of the rpm range as long as it was sized correctly. another thing to consider in you decision on what to get is if you will be wanting to increase the boost at some point. with a sc you have to change the pulley size to get more boost, with the turbo you just adjust the wastegate or if you are using an electronic boost control, highly recommended, you just turn a knob. in the end the choice between the 2 is based on what your goals are, an sc is better for hard drag launchs while a turbo is better for road and oval type racing. notice that drag racing uses super chargers and indy cars use turbos? if you are needing a bit more power every now and then because you are towing something the turbo is a good choice.

both about the same, the turbo power comes in around 3,500 RPM and the supercharger comes in instantly, the supercharger takes a few horsepower to run it off the engine and the turbo doesn't take any as it's run off the exhaust.

Small block Chevy, go with a blower.(supercharger)
Otherwise you'll need two turbos. One for each side of the engine at the exhaust.

Both are capable of good gains.
Both are also capable of blowing up your engine, if things aren't done correctly.
What car are you inquiring about?
