Do I need a heater core or Am i Screwed?

its a 99 blazer the vents are close but air or heat would come out. if it is the door always open where is it at to fix the cable?

no you don't need a heater core, you need to have the heater controls checked as it sounds like the heat doors are open all the time and they should close when the control is turned off.

There is a "blend door" inside the heater box that allows air to enter either through the heater core, or the A/C element.

It's stuck in the "heat" position.

Either a cable came off, or the rotator servo is bad depending on the year of your truck.

Your gonna need to be a bit more specific as to what is happening. Unless your heater core is leaking it has nothing to do with the problem from what little information you provided. I would assume that your problem is more a blend door problem or heater control valve.

No you don't need a heater core.Check for a air leak .Sounds like there is no air getting to your heater controls.Sometimes the air leak is on the back side of the motor.

if your blower motor is sill on after you shut it off your switch is bad mybe heater control valve or bad blend door problem will not be a heater core

check the switch sure thats it not the heater core
sound like im sure it looks like it is being turn off but if the switch is not working then thats it

sound like you have a bad heat control valve or bad switch for the control valve
