Sounds to me like they wouldn't have time to watch that crap.

Doesn't take 8 hours a day every day to thoroughly clean a house and keep it that way. Once or twice a week for the heavy cleaning, the rest is just pick up and maintain and children are either napping or are in school. Soap operas are on to sell products such as soap so let the household engineers enjoy some entertainment and please take out the garbage for your mom.

I used to occasionally watch daytime soaps, and based on the commercials you can tell who generally watches. There are ads for technical colleges and correspondence schools (for the people who don't have a job). There are ads for Rascal scooters, for the people who are disabled and cannot work. There are also ads for stay at home mothers, for things like shower cleaners and diapers. My mom told me that when I was a baby, she would watch soaps because with 8 or more hours a day alone with a baby, it was refreshing to hear normal conversation. Mothers do have time to watch if the baby is sleeping, or if they are feeding the baby.

By the way, soaps have been steadily losing viewers, and some (like Passions) are getting canceled.

I would love to see the people who accuse stay at moms of laziness to try it for a day. Just spend a day chasing a toddler, cleaning up throw up, changing diapers, making meals, washing dishes, doing laundry, filling out the bills, scrubbing the toilets, need I go on? Try volunteering one day at a daycare center or church nursery to see how demanding a job it is to care for young children. I'm a stay at home mom, but I don't want soap operas. Sometimes I watch a little TV, though, while my son naps.

Some people have the TV on as "ambient noise." If you leave one of these shows on, you'll find that you can actually follow the entire thing without seeing any images. That's most likely it.

Really no different from having audio playing while typing.

It's called multi tasking you can clean the house while the TV is on and look at the time they come on that is nap time. They are not the only ones that watch them either firefighters and cops, but they will never admit it

For those who watch the soaps you will have to ask them; I don't watch them and all I need from you is two points and I thank you very much.

I am a stay at home mom, and I never watch that garbage. I think soaps weren't meant for divorcee's who are still receiving alimony.
