Will it work or not?
Here's what I think are the good point and bad points:

Good:
Although people keep saying it won't work because everyone will just buy on the 14th and 15th the thing is is that the oil companies are putting out as much as they can a day. They usually don't leave room for storage. If the gas is not bought in the US for one day they are going to have absolutely no where to store that extra gas. Therefore they would have to put the prices way down to get rid of it as fast as possible.

The bad:
Once they've lowered prices for to get rid of the extra gas they will bounce right back up. Probably by the next day. Another thing, if no one is buying gas couldn't this possibly put the stock market into a frenzy and worst-case scenario crash the economy? If not send it plummeting.

What do you think?

Gas company have huge storage capacity, so they can make gas when price of oil is cheap but store it till price of oil is high. The main problem is there is only one American gas company and BP got in bed with them long ago. The best thing oil boycott can do is show political force. It will not directly effect gas prices, but if entering presidential election cycle somebody starts talking about anti trust or letting China into USA Market, that will effect price, but that won't happen unless very large number of votes are seen.

It's an exercise in futility. The only people the boycott hurts are the independent gas station owners who have no control over the gas prices. Their real profits come from other sales beyond the gas sales. So if people aren't coming in, they suffer. "Big oil" can stand to see a one day slump in sales. It's ridiculous to think otherwise.

I'm not buying gas for the next 3 days, not kidding myself. I don't expect anything to happen since the fat cats controlling the prices will make up for it on May 17th when everyone buys gas.

I will fill up twice that day. This is ridiculous. Let's refuse to buy houses for the month of June to bring down the housing market. Or better yet, let's boycott doctors, hospitals, and pharmacists so the cost of health care will decline.

I think I'm broke until Friday anyway, so I won't be getting gas until about the 17th. I hope it works, so when I go to fill up it's cheaper! LOL.

Stupid idea. Typical short attention span teenage, l want it now, I'll fix it now, instant everything attitude.

It's just quick one day "I did something today" feel good event. Nothing to do with real work to solve energy problem.
