"We Need to Talk About Kevin" by Lionel Shriver is an intense novel with a surprising revelation at the end.

"Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman is a dark fantasy/mystery, and the revelation of the murderer is very much a twist.

"Relic" and "Reliquary" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are both mystery/thrillers with several unexpected twists and turns.

"Ender's Game" and "Speaker for the Dead" by Orson Scott Card both have surprising twists at the end.

There's a *classic* twist to Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre." Dickens usually has good plot twists- like "Bleak House" and "Great Expectations."
For a more contemporary read, Salman Rushdie's "Midnight's Children" is loaded with little goodies for the reader.

You dont get more twists and turns as you do with Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes. Twists are very necessary in mysteries, and nobody does it better than Agatha Christie and Conan Doyle. Pax - C
