I'm thinking the likes of Kim Jong-Il in N. Korea, Pinochet in Chile, the Duvaliers in Haiti, Niyazov in Turkmenistan, etc. Any women to add to this list of infamy?

Obviously Dictator has a negative connotation. When I think of a Dictator I think of a long rule and someone who dies a natural death or murdered at an old age where they could no longer defend themselves. I don't know if you view the Monarchy of England as a Dictator, but the Irish would concur that Queen Elizabeth of England ruled 50 years over the Irish Republic. As you know the Scots and the Brits had a long running feud, so I think this would be the most recognizable woman who had the greatest tenure, that made Ireland subject to British rule and domination. To the Irish, "The Queen" was a Dictator.

Empress Dowager Cixi, Empress Zoe, lots of Byzantine and Ottoman women ruled their respective lands with an iron fist at least as bad as many more well known dictators. Even Nero's mom.

Interesting question. Here are a few from relatively modern times that perhaps could be considered co-dictators in the way that Hillary was thought of as co-President during Bill Clinton's first term: Eva Peron [Argentina]; Mao's wife, whose name escapes me [China]; Madame Chiang [Taiwan]; and Imelda Marcos [Philippines].

No female ditactors per se. There was one horrific female mass murderer that I know of though. She wasn't a dicator, but I think she was a lesser nobility. Her name was Elsbeth de Batherie. I've also seen her name spelled Elisabeth Bathery, Elizabeth d'Bathery, Elspeth of Batherie, etc.

No because women arent power hungry pigs who make their countries suffer, there will b the occasional stupid woman who will make a really bad choice and it will effect a large group of people.
