my ex is lying to me saying that he payed child support..i phone the government agency that handles child support that i deal with and they said that he hasn't made a payment since mid - april..i confronted my ex about this and he still lied to my face saying that he paid it..until i said that he's lying and i called the agency..finally he admitted it saying that it was because i didn't pay him back for money that i owed him, despite the fact that it was for his son.. and he continued to say that i have no reason to be upset with him..that he was trying to 'teach me a lesson'..do i have a right to be upset about this and does anyone out there feel that i should have to pay him money back that he gives me for his son? he doesn't pay the correct amount for child support..he claims he only makes $8 hr at his job..meanwhile he makes $15..i haven't said anything to that agency because i'm not after his money, but i don't think he has a right to expect me to reimburse money used for myson

Turn him in. Right is right, and it is his obligation to pay the child support he owes. Do NOT enable his cr@p by covering for him or accepting less than your child is owed.

I've been both a custodial parent of a now 17 year old and a non-custodial of a now 8 year old so I have been on both sides.
If you truly feel he is being a jerk about paying and you have a court order ordering him to pay, then report him and they will garnish his wages. They have his social security number so this will be no problem.
Be fair about the amount though because in my opinion the amount is too unfair in a lot of cases and it only leads to animosity between parents. But it does take money to raise a child and if he is unwilling to help you on his own then get it through the court. He needs to support his child, but not you. Don't use child support or your child as a pawn and your life will be easier in the long run..

I would be mad as hell if I had an ex who used our child to get even. It is not right to use an innocent child.
