I have a nrg file that is a little more than 3 gb (holy crap!) and my cd-r's only carry 700 or 650 Mb each. I need to get this file to another computer. I don't know if I can put it on multiple Cd-r's and
if I can then how do I put them back together again on the seperate computer? Please answer. I need this quickly for a project. Thank you.

Winzip will not work! There is NO WAY winzip will compress a 3 gig file down to 700 megs.

You can use Winrar. Winrar is like winzip but you can set a file size and it will split the file into files of the size you tell it to. This way you can make it into 5 or 6 files under 700 megs, burn them, put them on the other computer then use winrar to un-rar them (put back into a single file).
You can use it for the trial period to get this done. If you find you'd like it you can buy it or if you want you can just un-install it when your done.

When you put them on the other PC make sure you place all the files in the same folder before you try to unrar it. I'm sure winrar has help files you can read if you have any questions.

Easy, download winzip on both computers, and zip the file and copy the ziped file onto the cd, it will bring the file size dwn lots. If it dosen't shrink it enough (it should though) you can try using a blank dvd (as lnog as your computer has a dvd burner) as dvd's are 4.7 gb The only other option is to use an external hdd. I recomend using winzip though

Get the trial version, it will last for 14 days, and as this is a one time thing, you can uninstall it later

just use a file splitter

HJSPLIT its free

and burn each part of the split file to a cd

then on the other just put the file back together once
you copy the parts back to the hard drive on the other pc

I understand your problem but I think you can save the file to more than one disk (number them) It would be really simple if you had a memory stick with that much space. Good luck.
