Supposedly, the reason is to better localize 911 calls.
It doesn't help rescuers find anyone lost in the wilderness - when was the last time you were hiking in the mountains well away from civilization and had a cell signal? Coverage is much better now than it used to be, but there's still a ton of gaps.

You may concern your husband's location within a specific period of time with the help of installing the spy software on your husband's cell phone. It will even work when the network is unavailable. Although many cellphone companies allow to use GPS, but most probably they do not provide the information until court order. I hope you that the mSpy GPS tracking software will help you.

Well, taking in consideration there are those who rely on cell phones, there might be more people helped or saved in case of an emergency. One such case was a young couple who were high on meth and lost in the backwoods somewhere and called 911 but couldn't be found from their signal so they froze to death. I think it would be worth it if we could use GPS to help these people in an emergency, if it was even possible. People who go mountain climbing and hiking should also be forced to carry these tracking devices etc.

As a matter of technicality... GPS ISNT on a cellphone as a matter of a component...you are thinking of "pinging".
Pinging only pinpoints the actual closet cell tower that the phone is using......
GPS is an OPTION that can be put on phones..... and is IMMENSELY helpful when trying to find lost Althsheimers patients and lost children...

A lady in my town was kidnapped and locked in her trunk and they used the gps on her cell to find her. I know that was on a tv show, too, but it actually happened her and honestly saved her life!
