I tried to open the port to speed up my speed but when i say to check the port it says its closed. About a month ago i was able to download at 1.5mb a second, now i max out at 100kb. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Please let me know. Thank you!

You have to make sure you've forwarded the port properly. You have to ensure that you're router is on the recommended hardware list that uTorrent specifies in order to obtain maximun speeds. There are some routers that do not work well with certain programs.

A major factor is the upload speed allowed by the individual you are downloading from and or his/her ISP's max upload speeds.

So there probably isn't much that can be done about it. I just usually allow the download to run continuously until it completes.

Is it possible your RAM is clogged?

Try freeing it up as much as you are able before downloading:
- set wallpaper and screensaver to blank or none
- review start menu and load only that which you need daily. Load games and such on an as-needed basis.
- run Disk Cleanup, Scandisk, Defrag every two weeks.
- click Start, Run, ipconfig renew
--------that's ipconfig space renew

See if these don't help some.
