I've never been asked this before, but I do think this is true. I think this is true because animals are not human and our expectation of their treatment is not as high as it is for our own species. The greatness of any nation is not only how the people are treated but how the earth and animals are treated as well. The better the treatment the better the nation.

I believe compassion is good BUT I believe that Humans should be the first recipients.
...I also find that some people use compassion as a tool; They revel in the idea that they will be perceived as a good moral person and enjoy the ego/power boost they get when someone is grateful for the "help".
.. Fortunately, most people help /assist because they can and /or because it's simply "the right thing to do".

Well all I can say is the judge I am going before in June doesn't take kindly to noncustodial parents who treat their animals badly coming to court trying to mess with the custody arrangements that he has in place and for that I am extremely grateful.

Yes. The rich can take care of themselves; the powerful can take care of themselves. Animals (as well as children, the disabled, and the elderly) cannot. A father who does not take care of his children is not moral and has no morals. The same goes for nations. We have an obligation to take care of those who cannot care for themselves.

I do.
The Chinese eat dogs. My friend's mom was there, one restaurant kept the "menu" tied up outside.
The Muslims are afraid dogs won't let them be with Allah or something.
My doggy is the cutest bichon yorkie creature on the planet. How could anyone not love a cuddly loyal pal like a dog?

That sounds right to me. If you are truly compassionate, then you would not only make sure that your fellow human being doesn't suffer at your hands, but that animals don't either. It just makes sense.

Absolutly not !! It is just bs they are animals. We have enough trouble taking proper care of people and children first.
