I think you are talking about exorcism...when someone is posessed by a demon/the devil/an evil ghost.

Demons are for the most part Christian constructs. Even the Christians have to admit, if pushed, that to be possessed a person must believe in all things Christian and allow the "demon" entrance.
One more step to make things entirely clear. Some of the Christian "Demons" are Gods of once thriving religions that the Christians destroyed and in doing so pronounced the Gods to be demons and that any having traffic with them would go to Christian Hell.

This is a tough question, being said it has so many simple and difficult answers, basically to sum it up, it's called excorsism, where a demons controls the persons body. It could also be our own minds tricking us into thinking something is wrong or makes us do bad things. Schitzophrenia could have to do with it in which your mind just simply tricks you into thinking something is inside of you causing you to believe there is a demon inside of you.
