I don't know how much Bush's strategy is to blame; I think the news media and many others are just not willing to consider it.
But here are some good reasons:
1. We have become aware that the US is a target of the Islamist movement, and it does seem better to carry the battle to their territory rather than letting them bring it here. At least for as long as possible.
2. The global conflict between Islamists and the West is only in its early stages; it is not reasonable to think that it will be resolved anytime soon. [A lot of people don't seem to understand that.]
3. It will be best for the West to have more than one democracy (Israel) in the Middle East. It will be best in fact if there is a predominantly Muslim democracy there.
4. If Saddam had remained in power, Iraq would have become (and to some extent already was) a haven, training camp, and supply depot for terrorists, regardless of their sectarian ties.
5. Saddam Hussein was responsible for hundreds of thousands of murders of his own people; this doesn't even include combat deaths due to his wars of aggression.

i too WAS AGAINST Bush GOING INTO IRAQ.
But after i saw how many terrorist were their and were getting trained in the country 's of Iraq Iran Pakistan and many other countries were producing something worst than the weapons of mass destruction training terrorist to blow up planes and building training them too infiltrate into our society and destroy us from inside our own country, i fear We have judged Bush to harshly if it was not a mistake to attack Saddam it was their best thing that could have ever happened to us, now we know where all the killers are being trained and by who, yes he made a mistake but that very mistake has awoken the sleeping Giant again much like pearl harbour did 60 years ago. our soldiers over there know this to be true the are better trained then just stupid country bumpkins these are well supported and well trained the informastion we have is they have as many as 600,000 being trained and even more murderers who are willing to kill themselves just to complete their mission Bush may be perceived as a baboon but only time will prove he was right God save our boys.
If you ask our boys that are coming back if it is just a bunch of untrained fighters or are they the best at what they do with hundreds of thousands ready to die its no joke folks were right up to our rear ends in a war with the Alqida this is not a cartoon it is real. you should be proud of what Bushe ,he has found out over there weapons of mass destruction is nothing compared to a well trained army of terrorist.
go get em George you are the man....

Reasons :
1: Your making money I assume
2: Your getting career experience
3: You learning a lot of life lessons
4: Your probebly learning a lot on how to handle stress
Your smarter for going Iraq then being on Bushes side . I'd like to see you come up with a list of why you support bush because I could give a 10,000 number list on why you should not !!

because Saddam Hussein had to be taken out for Iraq to move forward as a dictator-free country. Why it's any of our business I don't know, but I'm glad he is gone, he was a horrible man who did unspeakable things to his own people, and even to his own family. We can't leave Iraq because of all the insurgents left there, they would turn the country right back into what it was before we came over there. Then the people who lost their lives will have died for nothing. So while there are still insurgents, we should still be over there. Although I think it would have been better if we just hadn't gotten involved in the first place.

Idea of Iraq regime change is not stupid.
Idea that we can run in there like couple of excited teenagers, with no plans what so ever, do what the US did in 200 years in just couple of years? That's stupid.
This is deadly serious business. Apparently Bush didn't think it was that serous enough. He thought he can do half fast job and bring 'democracy' to a country in the middle of most violent region in the world, Middle East.

Going to Iraq wasn't stupid.
Going to Iraq without understanding the enemy or how to defeat him was stupid.
Going to Iraq while pretending this war is not about religion was stupid.
Americans who continue voting for vanilla flavor plastic manniquin politicians are stupid. They get what they ask for. Stupidity.

The person who said she is ashamed to be an American because of Pres. Bush. I say to you leave. It is unfortunate that people who are as uneducated as you are allowed to vote let alone stay in this country when millions of other educated people are being turned away from immigrating here.
